Blue spots and surface water flow
The mapping of blue spots and surface water flow allows us to visualize the depressions where water will accumulate in the event of very intense rainfall. These water surges are becoming increasingly frequent as a result of climate change.
Product features
This type of mapping illustrates :
- All depressions deeper than 30 cm, with the indication of the lower point, maximum depth, accumulation volume and discharge point
- The micro-watersheds feeding each depression
- Direction of surface water flow
Data is extracted from a LiDAR point cloud classified by artificial intelligence. The accuracy of LiDAR source data ranges from 5 to 15 cm in elevation, depending on the dataset.
For whom?
- Insurance companies looking to better assess the risk of flooding
- Cities wanting to predict recurrent flooding sites and build water detour structures, retention basins or even expropriations, if necessary
- Urban planners and engineers who manage surface water runoff
- City managers preparing emergency plans
- Etc.
